I am part of a group where book bloggers support each other and the hard work we put into our sites. All book bloggers are welcome to join our Facebook group.
In October, the Bookish Blog Hop is Halloween themed. Each day, a blogger will host a question and the other book bloggers give their answers. You can comment on as many or as few as you wish.
Today, I am hosting:
What book has been on your TBR (To Be Read Pile) for ages?
I have had the book Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay on my TBR list since about this time last year. It is historical fiction set in Paris, 1942 during the occupation of France. The reviews are amazing and I can’t wait to read this. It just obviously hasn’t happened this year! One to read before seeing the film, I think.
The book that has been on my list the longest, though, is Bill Bryson’s At Home: A Short History of Private Life. I love Bryson’s writing as he makes facts entertaining and puts them into perspective. Some purists don’t like his work as it wanders around a bit but I like to get a general overview. I must read this book over the New Zealand summer.

Hoo boy! I feel like I just answered this one! (back in July, was it?) The answer is STILL City of A Thousand Dolls by Miriam Forster. Yep, and it might be another whole year or so before I get around to it at looong last!

It has been on my list for 25 years. It will probably be on my list until I die. I just can’t bring myself to read it. I think it’s a mental block from Mark David Chapman using it as a defense for killing John Lennon. I am not sure. I just know it’s one of those “books every author should read” and I just can’t do it. I own it, I have not read it. Oh what book.. That Would be Catcher in the Rye.

I just got The Call of the White Moose by Alex McGilvery so while it’s high on my TBR list, it hasn’t been there long.
On the other hand, I’ve had Warp World by Kristen Perron and Joshua Simpson for over a year and I’ve only read the first few chapters. I just wasn’t in the right frame of mind to tackle it last time I picked it up. If life slows down sometime soon I’ll have to pick it up again and get through it. It’s a big one though, could take me awhile to finish!
